The ease of working with the silicone impregnated fabrics has allowed a narrowing of the number of different materials that are needed for any particular ongoing use. At Hi Temp we offer five basis fabrics.

The red material (R51) is made to withstand the most arduous of heat profiles while the Orange (O51) Pink (P51) and Grey (G51) are general purpose materials. An uncoated material (UN51) is also available for those limited cases where customers still prefer this material.

The Hi Temp silicone coated material is solvent resistant and water resistant and does not emit airborne fibers. The Hi Temp silicone coated blankets pass the most stringent tests in regard to toxic gases when exposed to intense heat or flame. The USA Department of Energy has warned that some welding blankets being sold in the marketplace release copious amounts of toxic fumes.
